Generally, the pain severity can vary greatly for both conditions, but adenomyosis is often associated with more severe, debilitating uterine pain and heavier bleeding.

In adenomyosis, this endometrial tissue is embedded within the uterine muscle wall itself. This makes the entire uterus become enlarged and intensely painful during periods. In contrast, in endometriosis, the endometrial-like tissue are typically found outside the uterus, on other organs or the pelvic lining. This distinction in location often leads to more widespread and severe uterine cramping in adenomyosis.

Both endometriosis and adenomyosis are widespread in India. As estimated 2.35 crore women in India suffer from adenomyosis, while an estimated 4.2 crore women in India suffer from endometriosis.

A pink infographic titled "Adenomyosis vs Endometriosis: Which is More Painful?" compares the pain severity of adenomyosis and endometriosis, two common women's reproductive health conditions. The main text states that while pelvic pain levels can vary for both, adenomyosis is often associated with more severe, debilitating uterine pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, and enlarged uterus symptoms. A small cartoon doctor icon appears next to this statement. Below, a smaller paragraph explains that in adenomyosis, endometrial tissue grows inside the uterine muscle wall, causing the uterus to enlarge and become intensely painful. In contrast, endometriosis pain results from tissue growing outside the uterus, typically affecting other pelvic organs. This distinction often makes adenomyosis symptoms more severe. The background is pink with a soft, textured look and decorative sparkles, and the bottom right corner features the logo "STOP The Period Pain", emphasizing awareness of chronic pelvic pain and period disorders in women.
